"A retrospective review of statistics reported that primigravida women who seek chiropractic care throughout gestation have, on average, a 25% shorter labor time whereas multiparous women who seek chiropractic care throughout their pregnancy have, on average, 31% shorter labor times."

Dr. Moe's Commentary

As a whole, the narrative review addresses all the the benefits of chiropractic during pregnancy but with this Research Wednesday we wanted to address labor time specifically. Mom's get excited about hearing ways to speed up the labor time because it may mean "less pain" than the alternative or "get it over with sooner" to them but after a point longer labors can lead to greater risk for the mother and baby as well as higher rates for cesarean deliveries.

As a pediatric and prenatal chiropractor we are trained and experienced in taking care of expecting mothers during their pregnancy in order to make sure their pregnancy and birth is safe, effective, and memorable. This starts from day one (conception) all the way through what we call the 4th trimester (postpartum).

We find that by making sure the pelvis and spine is aligned properly, your body neurologically is functioning optimally and structurally you are ready for labor.

Be Blessed!
